NEWS-SENTINEL REPORTS LOST JFK TAPES FOUND & NOW UP FOR SALE
Knoxville, Tennessee (JFK+50) The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported today that a reel-to-reel recording tape of telephone conversations made from Air Force One on its way back to Washington, D.C. in the aftermath of JFK's assassination has been discovered.
This tape, not to be confused with versions previously available at the National Archives & LBJ Library, has, according to the News-Sentinel, a half-hour of "additional material not in the official version."
The new version, more than 2 hours in length, includes "incidents & code names".
The News-Sentinel reports that the shorter recording previously made available was thought to be the only surviving version of the tape.
This reel-to-reel tape, inside it's original box, is being offered for sale for half a million dollars.*
*The original tape, which I have listened to many times, has conversations between LBJ & Rose Kennedy as well as LBJ & Nellie Connally.
