FORT WORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BREAKFAST

Back in the Hotel Texas, JFK goes to the Ballroom for a Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Breakfast.

Secret Service agent Clint Hill escorts Mrs. Kennedy into the ballroom to warm applause & cheers. She is wearing a pink suit with matching pillbox hat

The mayor presents JFK a Stetson hat & when some in the audience call out: put it on’….

"I'll put it on in the White House on Monday.  If you come up there, you can see it then."

"When in Paris, I said "I am the man who accompanied Mrs. Kennedy to Paris'.  I'm getting somewhat the same sensation while traveling around Texas."

"We would like to live as we once lived. But history will not permit it. The Communist balance of power is still strong. The balance of power is still on the side of freedom. We are still the keystone in the arch of freedom, and I think we will continue to do as we have done in our past, our duty, and the people of Texas will be in the lead.

I am confident, as I look to the future, that our chances for security, our chances for peace, are better than they have been in the past. And the reason is because we are stronger. And with that strength is a determination to not only maintain the peace, but also the vital interests of the United States. To that great cause, Texas and the United States are committed."
