JFK OFFICIAL DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT IS MADE


The official announcement of JFK's death is made by acting press secretary Malcolm Kilduff:


"President John F. Kennedy died at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time here in Dallas."

When asked by a reporter what was the cause of death, Kilduff replied:


"It was a simple matter...of a bullet right through the brain."


On CBS-TV, news anchor Walter Chronkite is handed an update.  He puts on his reading glasses & says with tears in his eyes:


"From Dallas, Texas....the flash apparently official...President Kennedy died at 1:00 pm Central Standard Time, 2:00 Eastern Standard Time, some 38 minutes ago."
