SNIPER'S NEST FOUND IN DEPOSITORY

SNIPER'S NEST FOUND IN DEPOSITORY

At 1:15 PM, a snipers nest is found by Dallas Police in the sixth floor corner window of the Texas School Book Depository. Boxes of school boxes have been set up to screen a sniper from inside the building.

Three empty rifle shell casings are lying on the floor under the window.

Police also find a rifle stashed between boxes at the opposite end of the 6th floor near the stairwell.

The rifle is a "Manlicher-Carcano" manual bolt-action rifle with a telescopic sight.

It was made in Italy during WWII (1943).  Firearms experts generally do not hold in high regard.

The weapon requires the shooter to eject a used cartridge, using the manual bolt, before the next shot.  The minimum time required to complete this action is 2.3 seconds.

The problem for investigators attempting to prove this rifle is the only weapon fired at the motorcade will be that the Zapruder film shows JFK & Connally were hit within 1.6 seconds of each other.
